2022 HARVEST HOE DOWN COMING SEPT 24, 25, 2022 !!! LOTS OF VENDORS, FOOD TRUCKS, MUS
At Blueberries Olé! LLC, we offer fresh fruits and berries that are free from pesticides. When you visit our farm, you'll experience picking berries straight from the bushes. Below are just a few of the items you will find out at the U-PICK farm:
We offer several varieties of blueberries and introduce new varieties as old plants tire out, in an effort to provide quality fruit over a more extended grow period. Our Blueberry U-Pick season begins in February, March, or April (weather dependent) through July. We are open on 4th of July.
The Freedom variety of blackberries are thorn-less and begin ripening in June-July. They harvest into September & October.
Through the Spring and Summer the Albion variety of strawberries are ripe and delicious! We don’t use ANY sprays to manage pesky mites that can plague strawberries. Instead we use IPM (integrated pest management.... good bugs eat the bad) as our method of controlling them. Because we rotate our small crop of strawberries, we avoid root issues that would otherwise require fumigating the soil.... so, NO FUMIGANTS (organic or otherwise).
This year Carol planted sweet peas for cutting, in addition to lavender.
Jeremy, the beekeeper, keeps some hives at our farm. The bees pollinate the blueberry flowers and we sell the honey at our stand.
PUMPKINS: We planted pumpkins in May...... stay tuned for updates on our Fall 2022 crop! We plant several varieties of carving and specialty pumpkins including: Jarrahdale Large, Casperita, Blaze, Cinnamon Girl, Champion, Wee-B-Little, Musque de Provence, Marina Di Chioggia, Racer, Racer Plus, and more.
Good friends, Joe & Fran Ferrari, grow olives using organic practices in the Santa Maria Valley. They harvest their Estate grown olives in the Fall and produce delicious Extra Virgin olive oil. The oil is sold at our stand and is a hit.....we will sell out early this season! (SOLD OUT 2022)
We are always planning new products to offer at our U-Pick..... stay tuned!
